Job Summary As a Construction Engineer in the Chicago area, you'll provide full-time on-site oversight for water and sewer infrastructure projects, ensuring contractor compliance, quality, and safety. You'll coordinate daily construction activities, review submittals and pay applications, monitor schedules, and serve as a key liaison between the Owner, contractors, and project stakeholders to keep projects moving efficiently. This position is for a future award. Responsibilities & Qualifications DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Provide full-time on-site construction oversight and contract administration Ensure contractor compliance with plans, specifications, permits, and safety requirements Coordinate daily construction activities and resolve field issues Review and approve submittals, and testing compliance Monitor construction schedule and notify the Owner of potential delays Review contractor pay applications and verify quantities and progress Prepare daily reports, meeting minutes, and progress documentation Coordinate inspections, testing, and acceptance of completed work Enforce quality control and workmanship standards Serve as liaison between Owner, Contractor, inspectors, and stakeholders
