See yourself in our team The CBA Group Chief Privacy Officer (CPO) is supported by a small team of highly skilled privacy professionals to set and maintain the Group's Privacy risk management framework and oversee the effectiveness of, and compliance with, this framework. This includes understanding how the Privacy framework interacts with the Group's other risk management and compliance frameworks, the ownership and maintenance of Group-wide controls, the management of regulatory change following legislative reform, as well as regulatory interactions and breach reporting, and the provision of privacy advice. Do work that matters This is a unique opportunity for a highly motivated privacy professional to learn and make an outsized contribution to the running and management of the day-to-day operations of the Group Privacy Office for the largest financial organisation in Australia serving 15 million customers and with a presence in 10 international jurisdictions. We are looking for a candidate that, in addition to having a good understanding of privacy legislation: thrives in a fast-paced environment; is exceptionally organised with excellent project management skills and attention to detail; is extremely proactive and has the ability to effectively drive projects forward to conclusion to achieve outcomes against strict deadlines; has strong visualisation skills to prepare easily digestible presentations to explain data, metrics or complex topics to a wide variety of audiences; analyse and advise on Privacy risk in the context of AI, analytics and emerging technology; can work with all types and seniority of stakeholders to effectively influence action in a timely manner while maintaining strong relationships; and is curious and willing to undertake complex work. In any given week you will Assist with the maintenance of the CBA Group Privacy risk management framework. Provide guidance and compliance advice to the Group and Business Units by advising on the translation of privacy obligations into business requirements. Support and drive collaboration between Group Compliance and the Business Units for privacy related activities and initiatives to increase privacy capability. Understand the privacy regulatory environment and monitor for material changes. Support on privacy incidents and the assessment of whether the regulator and impacted individual/s needs to be notified of a data breach. Assist with monitoring of compliance and the development of privacy metrics for reporting. Provide guidance to Business Units to shape privacy management plans and ensure consistency across the Group. We're interested in hearing from people who have Demonstrated proven track record dealing with Privacy issues preferably with a background in Compliance, Legal or Risk gained in an international financial institution, regulatory authority or professional services firm. Experience advising on Privacy risks arising from various technology, including Artificial Intelligence. Very strong influencing skills and ability to manage through influence in a matrixed organisation. Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced environment and make sound judgment under tight deadlines. Deep understanding of relevant privacy laws and regulations and applicability to various business lines and technologies. In-depth understanding of how policies and frameworks work with controls to effectively manage compliance risk. Most importantly we are looking for someone with a successful track record of delivering required business outcomes and has sound relationship-building and demonstrable negotiating/influencing skills.
