About the role
Works under the supervision nurse manager, practice manager, or director and is responsible for the assessment, planning implementation and evaluation of the total nursing care of assigned patients. The RN may work in a variety of ambulatory outpatient settings to include cancer infusion centers, specialty infusion centers, and general infusion centers. The RN utilizes communication, critical thinking, problem solving, and decision making to create a care plan for each patient based on physiological, psychological, psychosocial and cultural diversity. Responsible for supervising and delegating non-professional personnel working directly with him/her to ensure optimum patient care. Must demonstrate competence in dealing with age related needs of specialty specific patient populations served in the unit/department. Works under the direction of leadership and a multi-disciplinary team to provide a comprehensive range of services or clinical care associated with and in accordance with standards of excellence established by Riverside Health System and facility goals and strategic plans.
Responsibilities
- Demonstrates ability to assess patient clinical and psychosocial needs by applying standards of practice as it relates to the specialty or patient population served. ( I.E. oncology, neurology, rheumatology, infusion services).
- Demonstrates a sense of urgency to facilitate patient throughput to assure patients receive consistent, competent, and ethical care. Focuses on quality outcomes of patient care when addressing customer's needs to include current evidence based practice and quality measures.
- Accurately completes all required clinical and quality documentation consistently per RHS standards and regulatory requirements.
Requirements
- Education
- Bachelors Degree, Nursing (Preferred) or
- Associates Degree, Nursing (Preferred) or
- Program Graduate, Nursing (Nursing Diploma is minimum education requirement, Associate's or Bachelor's in Nursing accepted in lieu of Nursing Diploma) (Required) and
- High School Diploma or GED, HS Diploma/GED only required if Nursing Diploma Graduate (Required)
- Licenses and Certifications
- Registered Nurse (RN) - Virginia Department of Health Professions (VDHP) or licensed in a compact state Upon Hire(Required) and
- CPR/BLS Certification - American Heart Association/American Red Cross/American Safety and Health Institute (AHA/ARC) Upon Hire(Required)
- Certified Registered Nurse Intravenous (CRNI) - Infusion Nurses Certification Corporation (Preferred)
- Certified Oncology Nurse (Preferred)
