About the position: This position is Non-appropriated Fund (NAF) and will be assigned to the Columbus AFB Auto Hobby Shop. This is a Regular Part-Time (RPT) position guaranteed 20 hours but may work up to 40 per week. RPT employees are eligible for leave/benefits. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if the position allows for qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Qualifying Experience: Must have responsible administrative, professional, technical or other work which has provided a general knowledge of management principles and progressively responsible experience in one or more functions managed by an automotive supervisor. Must have specialized experience in the automotive skills center or an automotive service center with supervision over the various phases of automotive mechanics to include diagnostics and repair which provided an in-depth knowledge of automotive, service procedures, rules and regulations. Knowledge of automotive mechanics which includes the ability to troubleshoot, diagnose and repair/correct problems. Must be able to use a wide variety of automotive tools, read and interpret parts manuals, schematics and manufacturer's repair manuals. Must be able to maintain or receive certification for HAZMAT, MASCOM and ECAMP within 60 day of appointment. Certification by the National Institute of Automotive Service for Excellence or a2-year community/technical college certification in the automotive field is highly desirable. Must possess and maintain a valid state driver's license. This is a drug testing designated position. The incumbent is subject to random drug testing for drug used. Must be able to communicate effectively both orally and in writing. Must possess skill in dealing with the public. Must be able to satisfactorily complete a National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI). May be required to work an irregular tour of duty to include days, nights, weekends and holidays You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Performance is measured on the basis of results achieved i.e. success of total operations in terms of customer satisfaction, participation and economic viability of operations. Ensures good safety and health practices. Actively participates in the recruitment and development of staff members. Achieves satisfactory or better rating on all external evaluations and inspections. Implements and maintains an effectiv internal control system to preclude or minimize the potential for fraud, waste or abuse. Ensures that financial standards are met and evaluates variances for appropriate corrective action as required. Ensures revenues and expenditures are properly recorded and accounted for to provide reliable financial and statistical reports and to maintain accountability over assets. Ensures that established suspense's are met in a timely manner. Ensures that EEO concepts are applied and that an appropriate work environment is maintained. Must be courteous and exercise tact and diplomacy when dealing with patrons and co-workers. Expected to comply with oral and/or written instructions. Expected to meet established deadlines and adhere to established cash handling and cash accountability procedures. Expected to make efficient use of materials and take proper care of facilities, supplies, and equipment including sanitation and housekeeping requirements. Expected to be dependable, reliable, trustworthy, and demonstrate appropriate standards of conduct, persona hygiene and dress. Expected to adhere to Air Force and local directives, policies, procedures and instructions. Must maintain cooperative and harmonious working relationships with other staff members and show willingness to learn on the job.
