Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner - WEC Detention Facility

Requirements

• Physician Assistant: Graduation from an American Medical Association approved Physician Assistant program or have passed the National Commission Certification examination; supervisory experience helpful.
• Nurse Practitioner: Successful completion of an accredited program for Registered Nurse and Nurse Practitioner. Incumbents must have a current, valid license as a Registered Nurse and be certified as a Nurse Practitioner in the State of Nebraska.
• Preferred Qualifications : Experience working as a Physician Assistant within a clinical setting or equivalent experience. Work experience as a Physician Assistant in a correctional or institutional setting. Current CPR/ALCS certification preferred (required within one year of hire).
• Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
• Knowledge of: Life Sciences including Anatomy, Physiology, Biochemistry, Microbiology, Immunology, Histology, and Embryology; the use and effect of modern drugs; primary care medicine as outlined by the Nebraska State Board of Medical Examiners for Physician Assistants.
