Manager Markets Middle Office - Credit Transaction Management

Responsibilities

• We're looking for an experienced, forward-thinking and highly credible leader to help shape the future of (MMO) Markets Middle Office, part of (MO) Markets Operations.
• The team is also responsible for Operational management of our Special Purpose Vehicle (Cancara) which supports Commercial Paper Issuance, Lending and FX products for clients.
• You'll bring strong technical expertise, leadership experience, and sound judgement to identify more efficient ways of working across MMO.
• Using your experience in complex markets environments, you'll help shape strategy, respond to market changes, drive automation opportunities, and improve service for clients and Front Office partners.
• With 2.4x growth expected in the coming years for our Global Markets Business, this role offers a significant leadership opportunity for someone with the experience, resilience and strategic perspective to lead through change, scale capability and deliver sustained high performance.
• MMO provides specialist technical, analytical and advisory support to key partners across CIB, covering complex market products and high-value portfolios.
• The role requires leadership presence and credibility to influence senior stakeholders and deliver strong outcomes. Clear, confident communication is key to influencing at all levels, conveying messages succinctly, and enabling fast, effective decision-making.
• This role requires extensive experience across Global Markets products, processes and front-to-back infrastructure, plus a strong understanding of regulatory requirements. It also demands proven leadership to apply this experience effectively, leading with confidence.
• Your accountabilities will include:
• Supporting a sustainable, cost-effective target operating model to support business needs, adapting as the business model evolves.
• Leading and further developing strategic business relationships with key stakeholders through credible engagement, performance insight and visible leadership, building trust and influencing outcomes across a broad and senior network.
• Developing and maintaining procedures and interpreting and applying policy for MMO to achieve specified outputs, or advise the wider business on application of policy, then supervise implementation of those procedures within the organisation.
• Supporting the wide range of activities of Middle Office teams ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements by collaborating closely with all internal risk management functions while supporting the development and implementation of the organisation's compliance policy.
• Ensuring adherence with Group policy, procedures and guidelines, quality standards and all regulatory and statutory requirements.
• Measuring and reporting critical metrics. Engaging with industry developments appropriate to the business area and the wider market and understanding how the external environment, including the regulatory landscape will influence change within Markets Operations.
• Representing your business area and Markets Operations at governance forums, providing authoritative leadership, experienced insight and clear challenge to support strategic objectives, informed decision-making and effective risk management.
• Providing experienced leadership to key collaborators in support of programme objectives, building confidence in delivered solutions, ensuring they are market-leading, and leading the implementation of change in a controlled, practical and commercially effective way.
