This senior management role provides leadership and manages the court operations of the Somerset County Court. Responsibilities include human resources administration, budgeting & procurement, facilities management, jury management, information technology and public relations for the Court of Common Pleas and the Magisterial District Courts. The District Court Administrator acts as a liaison to other governmental agencies and departments, while demonstrating excellent interpersonal and communication skills, leadership, innovation and the ability to manage complex projects. Work is performed independently under the direction of the President Judge. Job Duties Provides comprehensive supervisory leadership by assigning work, setting goals and priorities, and communicating clear action plans and deadlines. Conducts regular staff meetings and ensures accountability. Mentors, coaches, counsels, and trains employees on duties, new skills, and internal policies and procedures. Builds an effective team and positive workplace culture. Completes probationary and annual performance evaluations and drafts job descriptions as needed. Reviews and approves absence requests and ensures compliance with AOPC policies. Approves payroll. Ensures that day‑to‑day court operations are effectively managed while advancing the broader strategic vision and priorities of the President Judge. Oversees preparation and dissemination of the annual court calendar and assists with scheduling. Prepares the civil jury trial, non-jury trial and non-jury custody trial lists. Supervises court administration staff members. Oversees fiscal administration for the Court of Common Pleas, Magisterial District Judge offices, and Court Administration. Manages annual budgets, processes purchases, and approves payments. Serves as the court liaison to the County Commissioners, representing the Judicial District on all matters affecting court operations, administration, and strategic priorities. Acts as the court liaison with Adult Probation, Juvenile Probation, Domestic Relations, Fines and Costs, Law Library and the Court Reporter's offices. Oversees the assignment of court‑appointed counsel for criminal matters. Serves as the lead point of contact for bail bondsmen and members of the public seeking to post bail for pre‑trial defendants. Manages all case management systems for Somerset County. Assigns and maintains appropriate user access rights for all county‑level case management system accounts, safeguarding security. Collaborates with Magisterial District Court offices to monitor caseflow and ensure the efficient, timely, and effective movement of cases. Acts as the Language Access Coordinator and the designated Right to Know Officer for Court Records. Researches, develops, and implements technological initiatives to improve court operations. Oversees jury management. Directs processes for summoning and qualifying jurors and ensures their comfort and safety. Manages the court's facility needs and reviews contracts/ leases for court personnel and the MDJ offices. Manages the request and coordination of senior judge assignments.
