The AV Technology & Media Support Specialist plays a key role in supporting the technological needs of classrooms, events, and administrative operations across the law school. This position provides first-line technical and instructional support for AV equipment and educational software, coordinates and supports Zoom Webinars and virtual events, manages classroom video capture and editing, and oversees survey and form workflows for faculty and staff. The role also includes maintaining AV inventory, coordinating with vendors for equipment upgrades and installations, and administering platforms such as Appointlink SeatGen and Qualtrics. The ideal candidate brings strong technical knowledge, customer service skills, and experience supporting both in-person and virtual learning environments. This position reports to the Director of Law School Technology Services and collaborates closely with faculty, staff, and Instructional Design & Technology Specialists. Position Specific Responsibilities/Accountabilities Provide first-line technical support to faculty and staff regarding AV equipment and software in learning and event spaces. Install, configure, document, and maintain AV equipment, including but not limited to projectors, screens, sound systems, video conferencing systems, and smart boards. May require collaboration with other university departments and third-party vendors. Conduct preventive maintenance and routine inspections of AV equipment to minimize downtime and ensure optimal performance. Troubleshoot and resolve AV equipment malfunctions promptly and efficiently. Maintain an accurate inventory of AV equipment, including tracking equipment location, condition, and maintenance records. Archive and maintain an organized catalog of class recordings, ensuring easy access for students and faculty. Set up, operate, and troubleshoot sound systems and other audio/visual equipment for live events on campus. Coordinate and collaborate with event organizers, vendors, and other law school offices to ensure optimal sound and visual quality for law school events. Coordinate and support Zoom Webinars and other virtual events for faculty and staff, including scheduling, configuring settings, providing technical assistance, and facilitating practice sessions and live support. Serve as administrator and provide Level 2 support for Appointlink SeatGen seating chart software. Manage semester-based data import jobs and coordinate with vendor support to resolve import issues or configuration errors. Research and evaluate A/V vendors to obtain competitive bids for classroom technology upgrades and large-scale events. Supervise vendor installations and services to ensure timely delivery and fulfillment of contractual obligations. Train faculty and staff on the effective use of classroom A/V equipment and instructional software platforms such as Zoom, Poll Everywhere, SuperSaaS, SignUp Genius, Microsoft Office Suite (e.g., Word, PowerPoint, Excel), and Qualtrics. Provide one-on-one and group support to enhance teaching and learning experiences. Maintain and manage Qualtrics user accounts and permissions, and offer ongoing support for effective survey design and implementation. Create, distribute, and manage web-based forms and surveys (e.g., for faculty voting during meetings). Collect responses and generate summary reports to support faculty governance and decision-making. Researches, recommends, tests, and implements the latest AV technology options for law school learning and event spaces. Assist with supervising and training student workers in department AV processes. Perform other duties as assigned or requested. Requisite Qualifications Typically a bachelor's degree (completed or in progress) in a related field or equivalent experience. Incumbent will be expected to continue upgrading knowledge, skills, and abilities needed to keep abreast of regulation/policy changes. Minimum two years of experience in AV equipment support, classroom technology, and event production, including livestreaming and post-production workflows. Experience with capturing live events and live streaming using industry-standard software. Experience working with content management systems (CMS) for maintaining online video repositories. Experience administering and supporting instructional software such as Zoom, Qualtrics, Poll Everywhere, SuperSaaS, and Microsoft Office Suite. Demonstrated ability to train users on classroom technology and software tools in both one-on-one and group settings. Experience working in a law school or higher education setting is preferred.
