Team mission The Central Services group is a strategic unit that develops and maintains foundational platform capabilities essential to GetYourGuide's global operations and customer experience. This group drives efficiency and consistency across the business by centralizing critical technical services & capabilities in three key areas: visual optimization, localization, communications and merchandising. By consolidating these fundamental services, the group enables GetYourGuide to deliver relevant, seamless, localized, and visually engaging experiences to travelers worldwide while empowering internal teams with robust, scalable solutions. Your team - Communications Platform - is in charge of developing and maintaining GetYourGuide's centralized communication infrastructure, ensuring seamless delivery of critical customer comms & touchpoints across multiple channels. The team owns the technical foundation for all customer communications (transactional and non-transactional), including email, push notifications, SMS and emerging communication channels. Your mission Work in a cross-functional mission team with highly skilled engineers, product, and data Continuously improve our code base, systems and processes Design and develop efficient solutions that can continue to scale Help to enable your team to iterate fast and learn about our customers by designing, launching and iterating on experiments, internal solutions and user capabilities Your toolkit 6+ years of software development experience High proficiency in Java and Spring Boot Experience designing architecture and deployment of web applications & services Experience with distributed systems and asynchronous messaging Experience in operating at scale, CI/CD pipelines and a cloud DevOps / infrastructure mindset Experience with stakeholder management, technical leadership and cross-team collaboration Ability to turn ideas into fast, reliable, and maintainable code Positive, proactive team player who is passionate about their craft Customer-centric prioritization and data-driven decision-making Hands-on experience leveraging and experimenting with AI Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English with the ability to clearly explain technical concepts to others Extras that give you an edge Experience developing internal SDKs and libraries, providing API documentation and developer tooling for other internal teams. Experience with communication platforms and services (Sendgrid, Twilio, Postmark, Braze and related services) Experience with GraphQL ecosystems Experience with SLO/SLA management and Platform Reliability Experience with security and scalability of asynchronous flows Experience in migrating a monolithic application to a services-oriented architecture.
