Job Description Position Summary An Environmental Compliance technician is needed for a 10-week part-time (20 hrs wk) internship with the CEMML team at U.S. Army Garrison Hawaii and US Army Garrison Pohakuloa Training Area (PTA). The internship will include a rotation with CEMML staff in the different environmental programs in which we provide support to the Directorate of Public Works. This position is part of CEMMLs Early-career Development Program (ECDP) which bridges academic training and professional practice by providing hands‑on, mentored internships and early‑career positions supporting federal lands management. To learn more, please visit https://cemml.colostate.edu/ecdp/ Potential work activities may include but are not limited to the tasks below: Hazardous material/waste inspections Natural and Cultural resources field work Construction site, storm drain, transformer, drinking water, lead paint/asbestos inspections NEPA and GIS support This position is onsite, and the technician m ust have reliable transportation to the site. The ECDP is unable to provide relocation or housing stipends. Full Consideration Date is 26 May at 12:00 am. Position Location: US Army Garrison, HI USAG Hawaii, headquartered at Wheeler Army Airfield on Oahu, provides installation management, training, and recreational facilities across multiple Army installations. Conditions of Employment Pre-employment Criminal Background Check (required for new hires). Must have a valid driver's license or the ability to obtain a driver's license by the employment start date. The successful candidate must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. by proposed start date; the department will not provide visa sponsorship for this position. Must be able to pass a federal background investigation to obtain a Department of Defense Installation Access Pass.
