About the role

This National Guard position is for a SOCIAL WORKER (INDEF) (TITLE 5), Position Description Number T5012000 and is part of the G1 located in Draper, UT with the Utah Army National Guard. Priority will be given to all current, onboard employees of the UTNG. The selecting supervisor for this vacancy is LTC Penny McCarthy. This is an Indefinite Tenure position and may non-competitively convert to Permanent at a later date. *Your resume must reflect in detail how the duties and responsibilities under each position you have held with each employer meets the below listed general and specialized experience required for the position. **Must include beginning and ending dates of employment stated as MM/YYYY; and total hours worked per week in order to determine part time vs. full time credit. BASIC REQUIREMENTS: Must have a Master's degree in Social Work from a graduate school of social work accredited by the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE) must be acceptable to The Surgeon General. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Must have knowledge of social work theories, principles, techniques, and resources is mandatory. Have specialized experience that equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE GS 11: Specialized experience equivalent to at least a GS-0185-9. *Must submit SF 50 to validate claim" OR Must have 24 months of experience in clinical social work assignments? (Completion of the Air Force Social Work Internship Program may be substituted for 12 months of the specialized experience requirement) This experience demonstrates particular competencies of knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. Knowledge of social work theories, principles, techniques, and resources. Must have specialized experience in professional social work that includes interviewing people to establish the nature and extent of their problems, helping them work-out plans for improving the situation, providing assistance and services, referring them to community resources and other organizations as indicated, and assisting them to understand and modify their own patterns of behavior when appropriate. Except as stated above, no other substitution of education for specialized experience is allowed. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE GS 12: Specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least a GS-0185-11. *Must submit SF 50 to validate claim" OR Must have 24 months of experience in clinical social work assignments.
