About the role

You will serve as a PRODUCTION CONTROLLER (PIPEFITTER) in the Structural Production Control Division of TRIDENT REFIT FACILITY, BANGOR. This announcement is for an Upward Mobility Program position. This program is designed to provide Department of Navy employees career growth opportunities who have potential but do not presently meet the Office of Personnel Management qualification requirements for this position. The entry level for this position is GS-09 with a full performance level of GS-12. Knowledge of employees selected may vary and will require the development of an individually tailored training plan to assist them in qualifying for the full performance level of this position. Eligibility requires that the employee be performing satisfactorily, complete all training requirements, acquire the requisite qualifications and have met time-in-grade eligibility for career ladder promotions. This recruitment is open to current UIC 68438 Pipefitter (series 4204) employees who possess the basic knowledge, skills, and ability at or equivalent to WG-10 or GS-09 or higher grade level/pay band in the Federal service or equivalent in the private or public sector interpreting or utilizing technical engineering documents, instructions, drawings or sketches for the repair or maintenance of ships, submarines or industrial equipment. Employee Participation Requirements Must be a current permanent employee serving under a competitive appointment, or on a time-limited or excepted appointment that provides for noncompetitive conversion to a permanent appointment (e.g., VRA, Schedule A Individuals with Disabilities).
