Welding Team Leader

Responsibilities

• As a Team Leader for the Welding department, you will support in daily production operations, ensuring safety, quality, delivery, and cost targets are achieved. The role focuses on lean manufacturing, driving continuous improvement, and engaging employees to achieve targets.
• Duties include:
• Supporting welding team, scheduling workload and materials to ensure targets are met.
• Ensuring strict compliance with all Health and Safety processes and procedures.
• Maintaining a high-quality standard within the production shed at all times.
• Support the Production Supervisor in their role to deliver, control and manage the day to day production of the shed to ensure on time delivery targets.
• Liaising with other teams and departments on a daily basis.
• Applying high standards of 5s.
• Understanding of Lean principles & methodology.
• Any other reasonable duties.

Requirements

• Significant production experience gained in a highly pressured and fast paced manufacturing environment.
• Ideally you should have previous supervisory or people management experience.
• Good working knowledge of steel fabrication, machine parts and steel processing.
• Ability to work on own initiative and take responsibility for making good business decisions when required.
• Ability to diagnose, troubleshoot and resolve problems quickly.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks / projects at one time.
• Motivated self-starter with an eye for detail.
• Ability to drive quality improvements and meet targets
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Good IT skills.
