Responsibilities Develop and deliver tailored lesson plans that meet the individual learning needs of students with special educational needs. Assess, monitor, and document student progress to inform instructional strategies and interventions. Collaborate effectively with classroom teachers, teaching assistants, and other professionals to support inclusive education. Create and maintain a safe and supportive classroom environment that encourages positive behavior and student engagement. Liaise with parents and guardians to communicate student progress and provide guidance on supporting learning at home. Implement behavior management strategies that promote social, emotional, and academic development. Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices and educational legislation related to SEN. Qualified teacher status with experience in special educational needs teaching. Strong knowledge of SEN frameworks, including the SEND Code of Practice and individual education plans (IEPs). Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage with students, parents, and multidisciplinary teams. Ability to adapt teaching methods and materials to accommodate diverse learning styles and abilities. Experience in managing behavior and implementing positive reinforcement strategies in the classroom. Empathy, patience, and a genuine commitment to supporting students with additional needs. Proficiency in using educational technology to enhance learning and track student progress.
