ICON is looking for an Electrical Drafting Technician to support the design and development of electrical systems used in industrial automation. This role involves creating detailed schematics, wiring diagrams, panel layouts, and documentation based on engineering specifications to support manufacturing, installation, and maintenance of automated systems. This is a full-time, onsite position based on our Austin, Texas HQ Campus and reports to the Manager of Electrical Engineering. RESPONSIBLITIES Develop and revise electrical drawings, including: Control panel layouts Wiring diagrams Schematics and interconnect diagrams Collaborate with electrical engineers and automation engineers to interpret design requirements Prepare drawings for PLC-based control systems, motor controls, and instrumentation Ensure compliance with industry standards (e.g., NEC, UL, IEC) Maintain drawing standards, templates, and documentation control systems Update drawings based on redlines, field changes, and project revisions Assist in bill of materials (BOM) creation and component selection Coordinate with manufacturing and installation teams to ensure accuracy of designs Support troubleshooting by updating as-built drawings
