Trainee Vehicle Fitter / Assembly Operative

About the role

Established in 2000 Tekbo manufacture and build a comprehensive range of rigid dry-freight and refrigerated bodywork to suit all sizes of vehicles from 3.5 tonne to 32 tonne. All bodywork is designed and manufactured at our 1.4 acre site in Glasgow, Scotland. We are seeking an enthusiastic, hands-on Trainee Coachbuilder to join our busy team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a passion for working with hands and to learn a highly skilled trade. You don't need to have prior experience but a strong aptitude for practical work is essential. Key duties: Assist experienced coachbuilders with the assembly, fitting, and finishing of commercial van conversions and vehicle bodies both refrigerated and dry freight Learn to interpret engineering drawings and specifications Work with a variety of materials including metals and specialized composite panels Operate hand tools, power tools, and workshop machinery safely Ensure all vehicles are finished to high-quality standards About you: Attitude is key: You are enthusiastic, reliable, and keen to learn Practical Skills: Previous experience in DIY, manufacturing, or hands-on hobbies is a major plus Team Player: You enjoy working as part of a supportive team Quality Focused: Proud of doing a job properly and paying attention to detail
