General Summary A Medical Scribe is needed to support healthcare providers with real-time documentation, improving efficiency and patient care quality. This involves accurately capturing patient information during visits, allowing physicians to focus on direct patient interaction. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Accompany providers and document patient encounters in the EHR. Capture patient history, physical exam findings, assessments, diagnoses, and treatment plans. Update patient information. Enter orders or referrals as directed. Monitor and inform the physician of lab results. Ensure medical record compliance with standards, policies, HIPAA, and Joint Commission guidelines. Prepare medical charts and documentation for review and approval. Assist with administrative tasks to improve patient flow and provider productivity. Education High school diploma or equivalent required. College experience or a bachelor's in a healthcare-related field is preferred. Work Experience Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology is preferred. Proficiency with EHR systems preferred. Mental/Physical Requirements Considerable mental concentration required. Lifting up to 35 lbs., turning activities and nearly constant walking required. Standing, turning, carrying, pushing, pulling, stooping, crouching, twisting, and reaching. Working Conditions Frequent exposure to infectious disease and hostile persons at times. Frequent exposure to communicable disease via blood and other body fluids. Minimal physical discomfort.
