Project Manager (Electrical) Role Overview Manage end-to-end delivery of electrical and M&E works for data centre projects as the main contractor's representative, ensuring safe, on-time, and within-budget completion while maintaining quality and compliance with client and regulatory requirements. Scope of Work 1. Project Planning & Programming Develop and maintain detailed project work programmes for electrical works including HV/LV switchgear, UPS, PDU, busbar, trunking, cable trays, earthing, and lighting/ELV systems Coordinate with main contractor, M&E consultants, and specialist vendors on milestone alignment Plan resource loading - manpower, tools, and materials - ahead of each phase 2. Site Execution & Supervision Manage a team and oversee day-to-day site activities of project engineer assigned as electrical installation teams and subcontractors Ensure works are carried out in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, and method statements Manage critical path activities including cable pulling, termination, equipment setting-out, and energization sequences Enforce safety and permit-to-work (PTW) compliance on site at all times 3. Procurement & Materials Management Coordinate with QS/procurement team on material ordering and delivery scheduling Track material submittals, sample approvals, and shop drawing endorsements Monitor site material stock levels and flag lead-time risks early 4. Stakeholder & Client Management Act as primary point of contact for the client's project team and resident engineer (RE) Attend and chair site progress meetings; prepare and issue meeting minutes Manage client expectations on scope, programme, and variations Liaise with authorities (EMA, BCA, SCDF, TNB, SP Group) for inspections and approvals where required 5. Quality Assurance & Compliance Implement and oversee the project quality plan for all electrical works Ensure all ITP (Inspection and Test Plans) and hold points are properly observed and documented Manage RFI (Request for Information) and technical query processes Ensure compliance with SS 638, MS IEC 60364, and data centre-specific standards (TIA-942, Uptime Institute Tier requirements) 6. Cost & Variation Management Work closely with QS on cost monitoring, budget tracking, and cost-to-complete forecasting Identify, document, and submit variation orders (VOs) promptly with supporting records Review subcontractor progress claims and certify for payment recommendation 7. Commissioning & Testing Plan and coordinate the commissioning and testing (C&T) programme for all electrical systems Liaise with vendors, consultants, and client commissioning teams for IST (Integrated System Testing) and OAT (Operational Acceptance Testing) Manage punch list and defect rectification through to final acceptance 8. HSE (Health, Safety & Environment) Chair toolbox meetings and enforce site safety plans Ensure all workers hold relevant certifications (SHE pass, CIDB Green Card, etc.) Report and investigate near-misses and incidents in accordance with company and regulatory requirements 9.
