Scheduled Hours 37.5 Position Summary Provides research assistance to faculty, students, and other users of the Law Library during assigned reference shifts and otherwise as needed, and as a member of the Faculty Liaison program. Teaches the for-credit Legal Research Methodologies class with the assistance of collectively developed resources and content, and provides research instruction in other courses as needed. Serves as the primary point of contact for student, faculty, and staff access to legal research platforms, including Westlaw, Lexis, and Bloomberg Law. Works with the Library Fellows and RA's to complete Law School projects and participates in collection development. Job Description Primary Duties & Responsibilities: Conduct extensive, in-depth, legal, non-legal, and bibliographic research for the law faculty as a member of the Faculty Liaison program and otherwise as needed. Provide research assistance to law students and other users of the Law Library during assigned Reference shifts and otherwise as needed. Teach legal research methodologies for credit in the law school's J.D. program. Develop curriculum as necessary. Write letters of recommendation. Provide bibliographic instruction in other instructors' classes. Create and maintain online research guides. Participate in professional development and service activities. Stay abreast of current developments in the field, attend meetings and conferences. Serve on local, regional, or national committees. Maintain a Law Library paid membership in the American Association of Law Libraries (AALL) and in one or more of its Special Interest Sections. Participate in all-hands research requests and under the supervision of the Director of Faculty & Access Services, direct and manage workflows of Library Fellows and Research Assistants. Assist in interdepartmental planning activities, budgeting, and collection development. Assist with interviewing and hiring professional staff for the Law Library. Attend law staff, law faculty and main University Libraries' staff meetings and workshops. Oversee password management for law specific databases and perform other duties as assigned.
