Responsibilities

  • Conduct walkthroughs in the different areas of the plant to timely and proactively identify occupational and environmental risks and ensure compliance with the EHS programs under their responsibility.
  • Follow up on accident investigations and generate corrective actions as a result.
  • Develop and implement ideas assigned through the plant's Ideas Program and Good Observations.
  • Manage the implementation of recommendations in different areas to reduce or eliminate the top 5 risks identified in the Risk Mapping.
  • Assign and follow up on EHS corrective actions (CAPAs) through the ALLEHS system.
  • Report and update accident rate charts.
  • Update the EHS information board.
  • Implement, maintain, and improve corporate EHS programs and national requirements.
  • Follow up on and participate in Occupational Health Committee meetings, as well as coordinate and ensure compliance with Occupational Health Commission inspections.
  • Provide training in special tasks (Contractor safety / Personal protective equipment / Forklifts and hydraulic platforms).
  • Ensure compliance with corporate and legal EHS requirements through adherence to policy and internal procedures. Likewise, ensure compliance by adopting strategies, internal controls, communication, and necessary training.
  • Support EHS initiatives during key events such as EHS Week, Occupational Health Days, blood drives, among others.
  • Coordinate self-assessments or internal audits of the EHS system assigned to their responsibility.
  • Verify, identify, and perform risk assessments of the entire facility, new equipment, and/or infrastructure changes; develop controls and ensure implementation.
  • Ensure updates to the various plans established by national legislation.
  • Continuously improve EHS results through leadership, commitment, and participation in all EHS-related initiatives.
  • Provide support in facility/product/process change management and planning.
  • Perform all other duties inherent to the position and those assigned by the respective manager.
  • Education and Experience
  • Degree in Occupational Safety and Environmental Hygiene Engineering, Occupational Health, or a related field.
  • At least 2 years of experience in Occupational Health and Environment.
  • Desirable experience in the Medical industry environment.
  • Other Professional Skills
  • Required:
  • ISO 14001 - OHSAS 18001 Management Systems
  • English level: 70%-80%
  • Experience dealing with regulatory bodies
  • Desired:
  • Quality/regulated systems (GMP, QSR, FDA, CAPA, ISO)
  • Office, Visio, Project, One Vault, Compliance Wire, SAP
  • Operational Excellence and Process Improvement
