Facility Operations Specialist (Direct Hire)

About the role

As a Facility Operations Specialist at Armstrong Flight Research Center, you will oversee facility operations and maintenance to ensure safe and reliable mission support. You will manage contractor performance, electrical projects, and compliance activities while guiding investigations and corrective actions. Aligns maintenance strategies with budget, assesses site needs, and coordinates with stakeholders to deliver prioritized, technically sound operational support. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line of work. To qualify for GS-13, you must have one year of directly related specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 level: Assisting in the oversight of operations and maintenance activities of facilities, including electrical maintenance and repair projects; Participating in the development of strategies for operations and maintenance of facilities; Providing technical guidance to facility operations and maintenance personnel (e.g., operation of critical infrastructure systems, outage response activities, generator and UPS sequencing/reset procedures, and power-up/power-down coordination, etc.).
