About the role

We are seeking motivated Senior Consultant, Data Engineer who are passionate in leading advanced analytics initiatives that transform how NAB evaluates and accelerates engineering delivery and operational excellence with modelling capability requirements and identifying workforce opportunities to support NAB's delivery and simplification agenda. This role delivers the single source of truth for Domain and Tech Excellence by designing and maintaining high‑quality data pipelines, automating reporting, standardising metric definitions and ensuring reliable ingestion into ADA. The position provides the technical capability required to uplift the P&I Data/Platform & Automation stream and supports the broader P&I operating model across Delivery Excellence, Domain Excellence and Enterprise Delivery & Governance.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and operationalise predictive models and analytical frameworks to identify performance risks, optimisation opportunities and future delivery outcomes
  • Responsible for providing and gathering data requirements for large scale data engineering or analytics projects
  • Structure end-to-end processes of data extraction, transformation, and storage to deploy models and analytical solutions in real-time and offline analytic processing.
  • Implement, maintain, and further develop ETL processes, data lineage, and observability across large-scale data ingestion from a variety of sources.
  • Define and validate data requirements for Domain, Tech and Delivery metrics
  • Build and operate automated ETL/ELT pipelines supporting P&I reporting
  • Implement data validation, quality checks and lineage
  • Standardise metric definitions and ensure consistency across
  • Technology Work with ED&A and source system SMEs to resolve data issues
  • Provide technical input to reporting automation and performance insights
  • Document data structures, dependencies and quality impacts
  • YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
  • Minimum 5-8 years in data engineering across large/complex datasets
  • Experience operating pipelines at scale and integrating multiple source systems
  • Experience in data/tech related project delivery would be highly desirable
  • Knowledge of API and UI design would be useful
  • Knowledge of core banking data and technology systems and infrastructure, Agile software delivery lifecycle (SDLC), excellent presentation skills.
  • Strong hands‑on skills in SQL, Python, Spark/Databricks; experience with workflow orchestration and CI/CD for data.
  • Data modelling, quality, lineage (e.g., unit/integration tests, data contracts, anomaly detection); design for reliability and scale.
  • Experience with advanced analytics and data science techniques (e.g. statistical modelling, forecasting, segmentation, anomaly detection) to enable predictive insights and proactive performance management
  • Ability to translate business needs (Domain/Tech metrics, governance) into technical deliverables; clear written and verbal communication to non‑technical stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with SDLC and performance/engineering metrics (e.g., DORA, flow, predictability).
  • Qualification Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data/Analytics, Engineering or a related discipline.
