Location St Ives, NSW, Australia Role Purpose The Disability Support Worker role at CPA exists to provide high-quality, person-centered support to people with disabilities. You will play a vital role in empowering clients to live as independently as possible, by helping them to achieve their goals and supporting their day-to-day wellbeing, dignity and quality of life. About the Clients: As a Disability Support Worker, you will support clients living with a range of disabilities, including Cerebral Palsy, Autism, Down syndrome, intellectual disabilities, and physical disabilities. Some clients may also present with complex needs and behaviours of concern. Role Overview This role is based at the Cerebral Palsy Alliance St Ives Day Centre and offers the opportunity to support clients by transporting them from their homes to attend day programs, or by providing support directly at the centre. This is a permanent part-time position offering approximately 30 hours per week, with day shifts scheduled from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM . Applicants must be available to work Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday, with additional availability on Monday and Tuesday considered a bonus. You will assist with daily living skills, social engagement, and community participation, including personal care (where required), manual handling, medication support (if trained), behaviour support strategies, and 1:1 or small group support. Each day, you will encourage independence, build skills and confidence, promote inclusion, support participant choice, facilitate activities and outings, follow individual support plans, document progress, and work collaboratively with families and allied health professionals.
