Environmental Field Scientist

Requirements

• BA/BS in Environmental Science or a related field.
• Valid driver's license, acceptable driving record, and reliable transportation.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and other commonly used computer applications.
• Demonstrated commitment to safe work practices and maintaining a strong safety record.
• 1-3 years of relevant experience in a similar environmental or field‑based role is preferred.
• Previous Massachusetts MCP experience preferred.
• 40‑hour HAZWOPER certification preferred; familiarity federal and state regulations a plus.
• Experience with Deltek Vision preferred.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Solid technical writing ability with strong attention to detail.
• Work Environment & Schedule:
• Work may take place in office, field, and outdoor environments, including active job sites.
• Exposure to varied weather conditions during field assignments.
• Ability to navigate job sites, including walking, standing, and ascending or descending stairs and ladders.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds as needed.
• Willingness to travel up to 90% regionally.
• Availability for night and weekend work(infrequent)

Our work spans a diverse portfolio of civil, environmental, water resources, and traffic/transportation projects, all within a fast‑paced, collaborative, and engaging work environment that encourages growth and impact. Your Responsibilities as an Environmental Field Scientist: Co llect field samples of soil, soil vapor, groundwater, surface water, and drinking water . Provide oversight of site investigation and characterization, as well as contaminated site remediation . Prepare field notes, photographs , and perform analysis and interpretation of field and analytical data. Prepare technical reports and conduct ASTM Phase I and Phase II environmental site assessments. Support emergency response services, communicate and collaborate with others, manage workloads and records, implement health & safety policies, and travel extensively.
