Responsibilities
- Conducts ongoing surveillance to identify, track, and reduce healthcare-associated infections across care settings.
- Collects, analyzes, and reports infection control data to identify trends, outbreaks, and opportunities for quality improvement.
- Develops, implements, and evaluates infection prevention strategies, policies, and interventions to minimize infection risks.
- Monitors compliance with infection prevention standards, isolation protocols, aseptic practices, and regulatory requirements.
- Collaborates with physicians, clinical teams, leadership, and regulatory agencies to support infection prevention initiatives and outbreak management.
- Serves as an infection control resource by providing education, consultation, and training to employees and clinical staff on best practices and current standards.
- Supports employee health and safety programs related to infectious disease prevention, exposure response, and immunization initiatives.
- Maintains current knowledge of infection prevention regulations, evidence-based guidelines, and industry best practices.
- Performs additional duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing, Public Health, Microbiology, or related healthcare field preferred.
- Previous experience in infection prevention, quality, epidemiology, public health, or acute care preferred.
- Current clinical licensure (such as RN, MLS, or related healthcare license) preferred, based on role requirements.
- Certification in Infection Prevention and Control (CIC) preferred or required within designated timeframe.
- Experience with infection surveillance, data analysis, and regulatory compliance preferred.
