Operate and monitor the Energy Recovery Facility from the Central Control Room, adjusting plant and equipment operation to meet operational demands. Ensure day-to-day compliance with the site Environmental Permit and relevant regulatory requirements. Provide out-of-hours cover as required, representing site management outside normal office hours. Provide technical supervision and support to Veolia and contractor personnel carrying out work on site. Train, coach and monitor other shift staff to ensure competence and safe performance. Produce clear, concise reports and communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels. Contribute to the effective administration of Health & Safety policies and procedures, and work within Veolia's Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality systems. Provide shift rota cover (including weekends and Public Holidays) to support continuous operation of the facility. What we're looking for; Proven operator experience in a power generation/energy-from-waste/continuous process environment (waste incineration experience desirable). Completed a recognised Power Station operational apprenticeship/training programme (or equivalent operational training and experience). Strong working knowledge of environmental compliance and health & safety requirements, with a solid understanding of relevant regulations. IOSH Passport / IOSH Managing Safely (or equivalent) certification. Demonstrable ability to follow and enforce operating procedures and safe systems of work. Experience working rotating shift patterns, including weekends and Public Holidays. Strong communication skills (written and verbal) with the ability to produce accurate operational reports. Self-motivated and able to prioritise workload, work independently, and remain flexible in a fast-paced operational environment. What's next?
