Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-7 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience interpreting and applying DoD Instructions, SECNAV Instructions, and Disability Evaluation System (DES) policies to guide medical evaluation processes and procedures. Experience navigating and ensuring compliance with policies, regulations, and directives applicable to Military Health Systems (MHS) electronic health records. Experience executing the full range of Disability Evaluation System (DES) and Temporary Disability Retirement List (TDRL) processing utilizing a comprehensive understanding of the military retirement system. Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.
