Responsibilities
- Employee Benefits Lifecycle Management
- Administer employee benefits programs including medical, dental, vision, life, disability, FSA/HSA, COBRA, and 401(k)
- Own benefit enrollments, qualifying life events, and employee data changes within HR systems
- Respond to employee inquiries regarding benefits eligibility, coverage, and claims, providing an exceptional level of customer service to our internal and external partners (HRBPs, employees, etc.)
- Drive leave of absence programs including FMLA, STD/LTD, military leave, and applicable state leave programs; manage cases from intake through return-to-work
- Own accommodation processes, including ADA requests, in partnership with HR and Legal as appropriate
- Invoice & Billing Administration
- Review vendor invoices against contracts and statements of work
- Partner with third-party administrators and vendors to ensure accurate and timely processing of benefits and leave requests
- Resolve discrepancies with vendors, hiring managers, and Finance to ensure billing accuracy.
- Partner cross-functionally with Accounts Payable to ensure timely processing and payment.
- Compliance & Data Integrity
- Own and maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with federal, state, and company policies (e.g., FMLA, ADA, COBRA, ERISA)
- Lead and/or support benefit audits
- Own open enrollment activities including system testing, communications, and auditing
- Document and maintain standard operating procedures and internal resources to support consistent program administration
- Stakeholder & Vendor Management
- Act as main point of contact for benefits inquiries to all internal and external stakeholders
- Partner with Legal, Procurement, and HRBPs to address vendor performance, service-level agreements, and pricing.
- Produce regular reports and analytics on benefit trends, costs, and utilization.
- Continuous Improvement
- Recommend enhancements to benefit offerings processes, policies, and tools
- Stay current on benefits compliance requirements and market practices.
Requirements
- B.A. or B.S. (or equivalent experience) in Human Resources, Business, or related field
- 3-5 years of experience in benefits administration and/or leave management
- Working knowledge of applicable regulations including FMLA, ADA, COBRA, ERISA, and state leave laws
- Experience working with HRIS systems (e.g., Workday) and benefits/leave administration tools
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication and customer service skills, with the ability to handle sensitive and confidential information
- Experience working with third-party administrators and vendors strongly preferred

The Benefits and Leave Partner is a hands-on administrator responsible for delivering a seamless benefits and leave experience for Alarm.com employees. In this role, you'll own the full lifecycle of our benefits programs - medical, dental, vision, 401(k), FSA/HSA, COBRA, and more - while managing leave of absence cases from intake through return-to-work.
