The Return to Title IV Specialist is responsible for understanding and maintaining compliance within the function of Return of Title IV. Position is responsible for reviewing and understanding Federal Methodology as it pertains to R2T4, leading the R2T4 team within SFA in the areas of Return of Title IV adjustments, Reaffirmations, lender notifications, and "WF" grade report. Will have full working knowledge of all aspects of the drop and withdraw process; Will have full working knowledge of the complexities of R2T4 decision making in a module-heavy environment; Oversees completion of daily workload and resolves student issues when they require special handling; Manages the Satisfactory Academic Progress Appeal process from start to finish, making professional judgement decisions on these appeals independently; Assists other staff in the absence of the Associate Director, ensures completion of scheduled tasks within assigned deadlines, and assists in achieving departmental and organizational goals. This position is data-heavy with a full working knowledge of excel required. Position Accountabilities Maintaining compliance within the Return of Title IV (R2T4) function in a module based environment Leading the Return of Title IV team to ensure that goals and deadlines are met within the allowed error rate of less than 5% Processing the Return of Title IV calculations and aid adjustments Ensuring the integrity of the add/drop data and integration of that data into PowerFaids Processing of "WF" report at end of each session to process R2T4 on students who fail due to not completing the term Managing the reaffirmation process for students returning to attendance within a semester Ensure adjustments and returns are completed in a timely manner compliant with federal regulations Maintain professional working relationship with Registrar and Student Account departments Manages the Satisfactory Academic Progress Appeal process from start to finish, performing professional judgement decisions independently, working with students, Academic Success Center, and academic advisors to ensure student success following an appeal Assists Student Financial Aid Operations team in the absence of the Associate Director; this requires full knowledge of Title IV regulations and how they impact all functional areas of the financial aid office Other duties as assigned Position Requirements: Bachelor's Degree required as position is compliance based. Previous experience in Return to Title IV is desired. Ability to work within complex data systems (CX/Jenzabar, PowerFaids). Expected to have a thorough ability to use Excel to manage data (ability to manipulate and interpret data using v-lookup, pivot tables, etc.). Leadership characteristics are required with the ability to hold self and coworkers to high standards in accuracy, deadlines, output, and compliance. Ability to train coworkers in Return to Title IV and other areas of expertise Ability to resolve problems and communicate professionally orally and in writing. Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to maintain good working relationships with outside departments. Ideal candidate would be committed to learning all aspects of the operations of Park Student Financial Aid. Strong orientation toward a high volume and fast-paced environment with demonstrated experience in compliance. Must be able to maintain exceptional level of accuracy while meeting tight deadlines. Previous experience in financial aid or equivalent combination of education and experience is required. Previous experience in Return to Title IV is desired Ability to work independently and make professional judgement decisions on SAP Appeals Ability to multitask, organize and establish priorities are required.
