Maintenance Mechanic Supervisor

About the role

This position serves as a Working Maintenance Supervisor and is responsible to oversee maintenance operations, including healthcare buildings, staff housing, grounds, and utility systems. This hands-on supervisory role is responsible for ensuring all facilities and infrastructure are safely, reliably, and efficiently maintained to support patient care and essential health services. A REAL ID will be required beginning May 7, 2025, in accordance with 6 C.F.R. 37.5 (2021). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer and part time experience. Although no specific amount of experience, education, or training is required, applicants must meet a minimum level of ability in relation to the position. The Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Handbook X-118C for the WG-4749 series is used as a basis for qualifications. Physical Requirements: The work may require continual standing, walking, stooping, bending, kneeling, climbing ladders, reaching above the head, and lifting up to 50 lbs. Occasionally works in awkward and cramped conditions when making repairs, work is sometime performed on ladders and /or scaffolds. Working Conditions: Work is performed inside and outside the government quarters and occasionally in inclement weather. Work is usually dirty, dusty and greasy. Incumbent may perform work where bad smelling fumes are present. Incumbent has frequent exposure to possibility of cuts, bruises, electrical shock, chemical irritations and broken bones while working around machinery and equipment. Credit will be given for all appropriate qualifying experience regardless of whether the experience as gained a part-time or full-time occupation. Work experience must contain dates and hours worked per week. You must meet all qualification requirements within 30 days of the closing date of the announcement.
