The Director of Strategic Operations is a high-impact, high-visibility role at the core of how Habitat operates. This role is responsible for driving Habitat's operating model and bringing structured, strategic thinking to our highest priority, cross-functional initiatives. You will own the end-to-end launch process for new PACE centers, facilitate effective change management across the enterprise, and build the execution infrastructure that will enable Habitat to grow at scale. This is a role for someone who thrives in ambiguity, operates with the rigor of a consultant and the urgency of an operator, and can move seamlessly between strategic design and hands-on delivery. This individual and their team will drive effective and efficient maturation of Habitat's operating model. Location : San Francisco, CA preferred, remote with 25-30% travel Core Responsibilities & Expectations for the Role: Center Launch Readiness Lead Go-Live Readiness (GLR) for our new PACE centers - owning the strategy, operating model, milestones, governance, and cross-functional execution across clinical, operational, regulatory, staffing, tech, and other workstreams Run executive readiness reviews and cross-functional forums to drive alignment and decision-making Proactively surface and resolve risks, dependencies, and execution gaps across all launch workstreams Deliver executive updates about launches to key Habitat and partner stakeholders Manage the structured handoff to local operations teams once a center is live Refine Habitat's launch framework with each iteration Change Management and Execution Infrastructure Define how Habitat manages large-scale change - designing rollout strategies, governance structures, and operating rhythms that drive adoption and sustain results Proactively identify and resolve friction points across teams, workflows, and priorities Build repeatable systems and ways of working that strengthen Habitat's execution capability as we scale Business Operations Define and manage the operational metrics that matter to provide the right visibility into Habitat's performance Establish clear prioritization escalation pathways so that risks, blockers, and decision points surface to the right people at the right time Translate data and status into effective executive-level reporting that enables timely, informed decision-making High-Priority Cross-Functional Initiatives Own a portfolio of strategic initiatives - spanning AI enablement, program design, and vendor build vs. buy decisions - translating complex, ambiguous problems into defined solutions Drive alignment across clinical, compliance, growth, and technology teams; hold stakeholders accountable for delivery against defined milestones Define success metrics, track progress, and maintain visibility into risks and outcomes across the initiative portfolio Required Qualifications: 6-10+ years in strategy, operations, management consulting, or high-growth environments - particularly in a healthcare environment Bachelor's degree in healthcare, finance, or related field required; Master's degree preferred Proven track record leading complex, cross-functional initiatives from design through delivery Strong ability to structure ambiguity, align stakeholders, and drive outcomes Excellent communication and executive presence - comfortable presenting to and influencing senior leadership Equally at home in strategic design and in the details of execution
