Responsibilities
- Manufacturing Equipment Technicians in Advanced Packaging Technology Development: Substrate and Wafer Assembly are responsible for:
- Performing electrical and/or mechanical troubleshooting to diagnose issues with non-functioning electromechanical equipment used in semiconductor manufacturing.
- Dismantling, adjusting, repairing, and assembling equipment according to layout plans, blueprints, operating or repair manuals, rough sketches, or engineering drawings.
- Performing setup, calibration, and preventive maintenance on production equipment, with a focus on wet chemistry, plating, and dry high-vacuum toolsets.
- Documenting maintenance activities, repairs, parts usage, and findings in accordance with established procedures and systems.
- Collaborating with engineering, process, and support teams to improve tool performance, reduce equipment downtime, and enhance process capability and reliability.
- Leading or contributing to continuous improvement projects, including root cause analysis, yield and uptime improvement initiatives, and optimization of maintenance practices.
- Assignments are semi-routine in nature and performed within generally defined parameters. Employees normally receive general instructions on most work and are expected to exercise judgment in resolving nonstandard problems.

- Effective verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate clearly with peers, engineers, and customers (internal stakeholders).
- Basic computer literacy, including the use of email, web-based systems, and common office productivity tools (e.g., Microsoft Office applications) to document work, create reports, and communicate with team members.

- Willingness to work in proximity to chemicals, follow all safety procedures, and wear a respirator when required.
- Ability to lift up to 35 lbs as needed.
- Ability to climb ladders as required by the role.
- Willingness and ability to spend the majority of the shift (greater than 90 percent, excluding breaks) on the manufacturing floor working on equipment, which may involve: Walking approximately 3-5 miles per shift.
- Standing and/or sitting for up to 9 hours per shift, as required by tasks.
Requirements
- Candidates must meet at least one of the following requirements:
- Associate degree in a STEM related technical field and 2+ years of experience in equipment maintenance.
- Bachelor's degree in a STEM related field (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics).
- High School Diploma/GED or higher plus and 4+ years of hands ‑ on manufacturing experience in a relevant technical environment.
- High School Diploma/GED or higher plus and 4+ years of military technical experience.
- High School Diploma/GED or higher plus and 2.5+ years of experience in equipment maintenance or a closely related technical field.
- High School Diploma/GED or higher plus and 3+ years Technical/trade certification or 3+ years technical experience
- 1+ years of prior experience in one or more of the following areas:
- Troubleshooting, installation, repair, and operation of electronics equipment, wafer fabrication tools, or assembly/test tool
