Job Description The Long-Term Care Clinical Educator plays a key role in advancing clinical excellence and workforce capability across assigned homes. Reporting to the Director of Clinical Training & Simulation, this role partners with operational leaders and frontline teams to deliver engaging, evidence-informed learning experiences. Through education, simulation, coaching, and competency development, the Clinical Educator supports safe practice, staff confidence, and high-quality resident care. This position is instrumental in strengthening onboarding, promoting continuous learning, and translating best practices into day-to-day clinical care. We are currently recruiting two roles in Eastern Ontario . Extendicare offers a hybrid working environment. Key responsibilities include: Deliver onboarding, orientation, and clinical education programs for regulated and unregulated staff. Facilitate hands-on skills training, bedside teaching, and competency-based learning. Support workforce readiness and transition-to-practice through ongoing education. Validate clinical competencies and ensure safe practice standards are met. Design and deliver simulation-based and experiential learning activities. Facilitate structured debriefing and reflective learning discussions. Promote critical thinking, clinical decision-making, and resident-centered care. Partner with leaders to identify learning needs and practice gaps. Provide coaching, mentorship, and practice support to frontline staff. Support quality improvement and resident safety initiatives. Assist with implementation and sustainment of clinical best practices. Evaluate effectiveness of training using feedback, participation, and outcomes data. Monitor learning outcomes and contribute to continuous improvement of programs. Act as a clinical education resource across assigned homes/regions. Maintain current knowledge of LTC standards, education practices, and clinical developments.
