Requirements

  • 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
  • 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
  • Experience programming with at least one software programming language
  • 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
  • Experience working with Data & AI related technologies, including, but not limited to, AI/ML, GenAI, Analytics, Database, and/or Storage

Build the high-throughput, low-latency systems that power Sponsored Products ad delivery - handling billions of requests per day with millisecond response times to help shoppers discover new products they love and help advertisers grow their business on Amazon. You'll work at the intersection of search architecture, information retrieval, NLP, and deep learning at massive scale. The Sponsored Sourcing Delivery team owns the Ads Searching, Selection, and Ads Matching systems within Sponsored Products - one of Amazon's fastest growing and most profitable businesses. Our solutions drive step increases in sponsored ad coverage across the retail website, ensuring relevant ads are served to hundreds of millions of Amazon customers. You'll design, build, and operate distributed systems that process massive datasets, meet strict SLA requirements, and break fresh ground in product and technical innovation every day. This is a high-growth team with a broad mandate to experiment and innovate - collaborative, fast-moving, and entrepreneurial. Key job responsibilities - Design, develop, and operate high-throughput, low-latency distributed systems handling billions of requests per day with millisecond response times - Build and optimize ad searching, selection, and matching systems that drive relevant sponsored ad delivery across Amazon's retail surfaces - Work with massive datasets using distributed frameworks to improve ad coverage, relevance, and performance - Innovate in search architecture, information retrieval, NLP, and deep learning to advance ad matching capabilities - Troubleshoot and support high-volume production systems while maintaining strict SLA requirements - Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver solutions that help shoppers discover products and help advertisers meet their business objectives - Mentor junior engineers and guide them to deliver high-impact products and services
