About the role
Location: 15 Norham Gardens, Oxford, OX2 6PY About the Role The Department of Education is seeking to appoint a Finance Assistant to join our dynamic team. The post-holder will report to the Finance Manager and play a key role in supporting the effective day-to-day financial operations of the department. They will ensure that financial transactions are processed accurately and efficiently, in accordance with University policies, financial regulations, and external compliance requirements. The successful candidate will maintain high-quality financial records, provide guidance and advice on financial procedures and policies, contribute to the continuous improvement of financial processes, and produce timely and accurate financial reports to support informed decision-making and regulatory compliance. You should have experience in a finance-related role and be AAT qualified or working towards an AAT qualification, or able to demonstrate equivalent relevant experience. You will have a sound understanding of financial systems and proven ability to interpret financial information and explain financial concepts clearly to colleagues and stakeholders without a financial background. It is essential that you can work independently, taking a proactive, flexible, and solution-focused approach to your work.
