Responsibilities
- As a Production Team Leader, you'll be part of our Mission team located in Mission, TX. You'll get to:
- Report equipment, personnel and process issues to the Department Supervisor.
- Monitor and enforce safety practices/techniques, including proper use of PPE and machine guarding, to maintain a safe work environment.
- Conducts monthly safety discussions with team members.
- Ensure quality standards are met and maintained.
- Develop and implement cross-training programs to enhance team flexibility and effectiveness.
- Assign, Prioritize and direct all work activities within the assigned areas.
- Serve as back up to the Supervisor for designated duties.
- Facilitate communication within the department and with other departments as needed.
- Identify and Resolve issues to improve customer satisfaction and productivity.
- Supports Lean & Kaizen initiatives and drive continuous improvement efforts.
- Provides measurable data and reports as required.
- Motivate and coach team members to achieve their best performance.
- Promote a positive, team-oriented work environment.
- Assign individuals to specific job tasks based on operational needs.
- Proactively identify and communicate potential problems to the Supervisor.
- Maintain 5S standards in the work area daily.
- Perform other duties as assigned to meet business needs.
Requirements
- Must have a minimum of 2 years of experience of production/manufacturing experience with demonstrated leadership or supervisory skills.
- High School diploma (or equivalent) required; associate degree or bachelor's degree in engineering or related field is preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft office: Word, Excel, Outlook
- Ability to train, mentor and coach team members. Strong verbal and written communication skills to conduct shift briefings and reports to management.
- Experience with production scheduling, tracking KPIs and ensuring quality standards.
- Experience with Lean Manufacturing or continuous improvement initiatives is a plus.
- Ability to resolve production issues and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Self-confident, motivated, and proactive.
- Schedule Flexibility. Must be able to rotate shifts and work overtime if needed to assist business needs.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) required.
