The primary purpose of this position is to serve as Teen Program Coordinator at an Air Force (AF) installation with responsibility for oversight of a diverse range of educational, recreational, fitness, and leisure programs aimed promoting and enhancing the physical, social, and emotional development of teens ages 13 through 18. INDIVIDUAL OCCUPATIONAL REQUIREMENT: Undergraduate and Graduate Education: Major study -- general recreation, or one of the appropriate fields of recreation such as outdoor recreation; recreation and parks leadership; wild land recreation management; natural resources recreation; youth recreation; public, urban, or community recreation; special populations recreation (e.g., senior citizens, institutional, etc.); or physical education. Or General Experience: Applicants must have at least 3 yrs experience with 1 year (52 weeks) of specialized experience at the next lower broadband NH-01, equivalent to the next lower grade GS-04 or equivalent in other pay systems. Specialized experience is experience that provided a knowledge of the goals, principles, methods, and techniques of recreation, and an understanding of the interests of individuals or groups. Ideal Candidate: We are seeking a passionate and highly organized Teen Program Coordinator to champion the physical, social, emotional, and cognitive development of our military-connected youth. The ideal candidate will be a dynamic leader who can seamlessly blend educational and recreational programming-including STEM, Boys & Girls Club of America (BGCA), and 4-H initiatives-with robust facility operations and financial management. -2 years of grant writing and fund acquisition experience desired -2 years of experience managing Boys & Girls Clubs of America (BGCA) or 4-H programs desired -2 years of digital marketing or social media management experience desired KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas: Knowledge of youth/teen development theory, methodology, policy, practices and procedures relating to physical, intellectual, social, and emotional development. Knowledge of requirements involved in the qualifications and suitability of adults to work with youth. Skill in preparing budgets, program evaluations, and facility administration; managing financial and physical resources of teen programs; and in effectively organizing and utilizing available resources within the program framework. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing. Ability to implement policies, practices, and procedures in youth/teen programs and safety management. Ability to develop and maintain good working relationships and be an effective leader for other staff and volunteers. PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week. VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
