POSITION SUMMARY The Transportation Supervisor is responsible for daily dispatch, maintenance of vehicles, driver orientation, driver evaluation, and driver training. This role will work closely with the Branch Operations Manager to ensure safe, effective, and efficient service to our customers. Schedule for this position is Monday to Friday 5:00 AM to 2:00 PM or until job is complete, plus rotating Saturday's. Schedules are subject to change based on business needs. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES Competitive salary range of $70,000 to $75,000 per year Oversight of daily dispatch; which includes 1 to 3 deliveries a day. Supervisor responsibility for all route drivers Routinely review effectiveness of route sequence and dispatch goals, modify as needed via weekly route reviews Oversight of 3PL shipping; FedEx, UPS, and other common carriers. Develops and implements vehicle preventative maintenance programs. Plans vehicle maintenance to comply with safety regulations and vehicle manufacturer guidelines. Develops and manages outside vendor and service relationships Communicates all truck related issues with the Branch Operations Manager daily. Works to improve and maintain company image, which includes recommending needed cosmetic repairs. Strives to meet departmental budgets and objectives Maintain equipment records in accordance with Federal, State, and Local laws and regulations. Oversees DOT compliance and reporting as it relates to the fleet. Work with Safety Team for safety and OSHA compliance. Manages DMV registration requirements and renewals. Tracks fleet expense by asset #, provides recommendations aimed to increase efficiency and bottom line profitability. Tracks and Reviews Monthly fleet expense by asset. Provides recommendations based on findings. Takes part in Route Driver training, including the on boarding process and recruiting. Plans schedule accordingly to build ride-a-longs into part of the weekly routine. Utilizes GPS, Telematics, and In Cab Cameras to track, trend, and coach driver behavior Leads the "Hows My Driving" campaign for the vehicles within the assigned branch Works with the Corporate Operations Team and Branch Operations Managers to review new fleet purchases and replacement needs. Analyzes fleet age and recommends replacements as needed. Handling of tires (e.g., rolling, destacking, team lifting) greater than approximately 70 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus. Protective equipment required : steel or composite toe boots, safety vest, harness, seatbelt , SRL (self-retracting lifeline). All equipment is provided by U.S. AutoForce except for steel / composite toe boots. Work environment : While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be exposed to weather conditions prevalent at the time. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Fumes associated with tires and occasionally car parts and lubricants prevalent.
