Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Telecommunications Provide general support to the Regional General Counsel - Europe Collaborate with the EU GC to report internally to the business Coordinate with internal and external legal counsel to manage transactions from initiation to closing Liaise with brokers and site owners where required Coordinate closing processes with external advisors including lawyers, notaries, banks, fund managers, and other stakeholders Perform legal and property due diligence (leases, title review) Manage, track, and record deals using internal systems Support expansion activities in new jurisdictions Provide basic advice on property taxes Prepare pre-closing reports, closing statements, and finance reviews Train origination teams on real estate matters Draft contracts and notarial deeds Oversee the full transaction lifecycle Manage and supervise payment processes at closing Lead weekly legal coordination meetings Renewable Energy Manage a pipeline of lease acquisitions across the EU and coordinate closing support across finance, legal, origination, and leadership teams Oversee lease acquisitions handled by internal legal teams and prepare underwriting analysis for senior management Evaluate, structure, and support negotiations with renewable developers for sale-leaseback and land financing opportunities Assist EU and global leadership in developing innovative ground lease-based products Support entry into new markets, including entity setup, compliance, KYC processes, and structuring transactions aligned with risk and underwriting criteria Provide legal advice on commercial and corporate matters REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Minimum of 10 years of legal experience in a law firm and/or renewable energy developer environment Strong background in renewable energy and real estate transactions Proficiency with Office 365, Microsoft Teams, SharePoint, and Salesforce PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES: Willingness to travel across Europe Entrepreneurial mindset with strong collaboration skills Curiosity, adaptability, and a passion for learning Proven ability to prioritize deal flow and apply sound business judgment Excellent communication (written and verbal) and analytical skills Multilingual proficiency preferred Strong interpersonal skills, respect for colleagues, and a positive sense of humor COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS: Competitive compensation package with a comprehensive benefits offering. THE TEAM: The Assistant General Counsel - Telecoms and Renewables (EU), based in Madrid, will play a critical role in: Managing the acquisition of telecom infrastructure assets, including cell towers, across EU markets. You will lead acquisitions in multiple countries and support expansion into new jurisdictions. Expanding Unison's renewable energy business across Europe by working with landowners and renewable energy developers. The role requires an experienced legal professional with a proven ability to accelerate transactions to closing, facilitate deals with developers, and exercise sound judgment in assessing, underwriting, and managing portfolio risk. This is a hands-on position where you will actively drive transactions and contribute to business growth.
