About the role
This position is located at Treasury Inspector General for Tax Administration, Office of Investigation. As Staff Assistant (Administrative Management Specialist), you will be responsible for performing a variety of analytical, technical, advisory, and administrative duties and functions related to the management of the Office. Specialized Experience: Specialized Experience for the GS-11, you must have one year (full 52 weeks) of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-9 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position is defined as: -Receiving correspondence for the supervisor and conducting the necessary follow up to ensure actions are timely completed; AND - Arranging conferences and other large meetings for the supervisor; AND - Coordinating action items resulting from meeting and conferences to ensure timely completion; AND - Using automated systems and databases (i.e. Microsoft Office products, SharePoint, case management system) to schedule meetings, type letters and memos, create presentations, and maintain case files for an office; AND - Identifying and analyzing plans and programs for an office. OR You may substitute education for specialized experience as follows: Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree, or, 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree, or LL.M., if related. OR You may qualify by a combination of experience and education. Only graduate level education in excess of the first two years 36 semester hours (54 quarter hours) may be combined to be considered for qualifying education. For the GS-9, specialized experience is one year of experience at the GS-07 level, or equivalent, that is directly related to the position as listed above. Specialized experience is defined as: - Receiving correspondence for the supervisor and conducting the necessary follow-up to ensure actions are timely complete; AND - Coordinating action items resulting from meetings and conferences to ensure timely completion; AND - Using automated systems and databases (i.e. Microsoft Office products, SharePoint, case management system) to schedule meetings, type letters and memos, create presentations, and maintain case files for an office. OR You may substitute education for specialized experience as follows: Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.B. or J.D., if related. OR You may qualify by a combination of experience and education. Only graduate level education in excess of the first 18 semester hours (27 quarter hours) may be combined to be considered for qualifying education. Time-in-Grade: In addition to the above requirements, you must meet the following time-in-grade requirement, if applicable: For the GS-11, you must have been at the GS-9 level for 52 weeks. For the GS-9, you must have been at the GS-7 level for 52 weeks. Time After Competitive Appointment: Candidates who are current Federal employees serving on a non-temporary competitive appointment must have served at least three months in that appointment.
