What Your Job Will Be Like: We are on the lookout for a talented and experienced R&D S&E Systems Research Analysis to enhance our analytical capabilities and drive data-based decision-making. In this role, you will engage with stakeholders across Sandia Labs at various organizational levels to advance our Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) analytical capabilities in performance analysis, data automation, and predictive analysis. Your responsibilities will include creating intelligent algorithms, models, and tools that tackle tasks such as natural language processing, computer vision, machine learning, and predictive analytics. You will be involved in research, development, deployment, and providing in-depth technical support for scientific software, application software, data mining, machine learning, and data analytics to address specific operational challenges. Additionally, you will integrate AI models into larger systems and applications. On any given day, you may be called upon to: Design, develop, and implement AI systems and software that support Laboratory-wide operational applications. Create intelligent algorithms, models, and tools for tasks such as natural language processing, computer vision, machine learning, and predictive analytics. Conduct research, development, deployment, and provide technical support for scientific and application software, data mining, machine learning, and data analytics to solve specific engineering and operational challenges. Collaborate across multiple functional areas to design and implement innovative AI/ML solutions that address complex problems. Build, modify, and maintain databases and database management systems to empower leadership with actionable insights into organizational performance. Identify opportunities to enhance analytical capabilities and develop strategic plans to implement recommended improvements. Integrate AI models into larger systems and applications to improve overall system functionality and scalability. Communicate effectively and persuasively with leadership through presentations, written analyses, concise reports, and data visualizations. Due to the nature of the work, the selected applicant must be able to work onsite. Salary Range: $102,400 - $199,700 *Salary range is estimated, and actual salary will be determined after consideration of the selected candidate's experience and qualifications, and application of any approved geographic salary differential. Qualifications We Require: A Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline, or an equivalent combination of directly relevant education and engineering or scientific experience that demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and ability to perform independent research and development. The ability to obtain and maintain DOE Q-level security clearance. Qualifications We Desire: The ideal R&D S&E, Systems Research Analysis candidate for Sandia National Laboratories will in addition possess the following: Graduate degree in a highly related field where an independent research project was a graduation requirement (e.g., independent project, thesis, or dissertation). The ability to understand, synthesize, and draw insights from multiple types of data streams (e.g., technical, economic, policy) through the use of various analytical tools.
