Responsibilities

• Reviews, prepares, and dispenses medications according to accepted standards of practice.
• Actively participates in all clinical activities within the department and/or facility to include but not be limited to: (1) Patient and/or staff education regarding medication(s) (2) Documented interventions within the real time clinical surveillance system as deemed appropriate.
• Effectively manages departmental resources.
• Provides quality, patient-specific drug information and recommendations to health care workers and patients.

Organization: Pharmacy Services Job Summary: Staff Pharmacists fill orders for medications, monitor patient medication therapy, and provide drug information. Staff Pharmacists supervise and direct support personnel. They prepare medications by reviewing and interpreting physician orders; detecting therapeutic incompatibilities. They dispense medications by compounding, packaging, and labeling pharmaceuticals. They also control medications by monitoring drug therapies; advising interventions. . Vanderbilt Tullahoma-Harton Hospital is hiring a Staff Pharmacist! Position Highlights Rotating shift of (4) 10-hour days per week Monday - Friday with alternating day off during the week. Approximately every 5th weekend rotation. Hours of operation are Monday - Friday 7:00am - 7:00pm, Saturday/Sunday/Holiday hours are 7:00am - 5:00pm. Clinical and central pharmacy responsibilities are rotated.
