Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end development of scientific publications, including manuscripts, abstracts, posters, plain language summaries, and congress materials
  • Translate publication plans into executable content; identify scientific storylines and recommend approaches to clients and authors

  • Apply AI-enabled writing, literature review, and analytics tools thoughtfully and in line with Real Chemistry's responsible-use standards
  • Deliver projects on time and to a high standard, proactively managing workload, surfacing risks early, and adapting to changing priorities without compromising quality

  • Advanced degree in life sciences or a healthcare-related field (PhD, PharmD, or MD preferred; MS or MPH with relevant experience considered)
  • 3+ years of experience in medical communications, with at least 2 years focused on publications (agency experience strongly preferred)
  • Demonstrated experience leading development of manuscripts, abstracts, posters, and congress materials
  • Working knowledge of publication guidelines (ICMJE, GPP 2022) and journal submission processes
  • Experience supporting global congress submissions (e.g., ASCO, ASH, ESMO, AHA, ACR - depending on TA mix)
  • Strong ability to interpret and communicate complex scientific data and published literature

In this role, you'll lead the development of high-quality scientific publications across a range of therapy areas, partnering with clients, authors, and cross-functional teams to translate complex data into clear, accurate, and strategically aligned outputs. You'll play a central role in shaping publication content, mentoring junior writers, and helping evolve how we deliver scientific communication in an AI-enabled environment. This is an ideal opportunity for an experienced publications writer who wants to deepen their therapy area expertise, take ownership of high-profile programs, and grow within a fast-paced, collaborative agency that's redefining medical communications.
