Responsibilities

  • Act as the Owner's representative and maintain oversight of assigned offshore vessels managed by third-party ship management companies.

  • Monitor vessel availability, reliability, fuel efficiency, and machinery performance, ensuring corrective actions are implemented when required.
  • Support incident investigations and ensure effective implementation of corrective and preventive actions.
  • Liaise with Classification Societies, Flag Administrations, OEMs, shipyards, and other external stakeholders on technical matters.
  • Provide regular reports and recommendations to senior management regarding fleet condition, technical risks, and performance trends.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, international regulations, and industry best practices.
  • Support vessel acquisitions, newbuild projects, and integration activities when required.

Requirements

  • Degree or Diploma in Marine Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Certificate of Competency Class 1 preferred but open to Class 2 holders
  • Minimum 1-2 years of experience as a Technical Superintendent or equivalent within the offshore sector.
  • Experience with offshore support vessels (AHTS, PSV, DSV, CSV, Accommodation Vessels, or other offshore assets) is preferred.
  • Prior experience working for a vessel owner or managing third-party ship managers would be advantageous.
  • Strong understanding of class requirements, dry docking, planned maintenance systems, and technical budgeting.
  • Familiarity with offshore industry standards and regulations.
  • Commercially minded with the ability to challenge and manage external ship management companies effectively.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work with internal and external parties across multiple regions.

We are partnering with an offshore vessel owner to identify a Vessel Manager (Owner's Representative) to oversee the technical performance of a fleet managed by third-party ship management companies.
