This role will be within our Collateral Management (CMS) team, a national tech solution that boosts lien and registration services, recovery services, and insolvency management solutions for Canadian Lenders. Position Title: Appraiser, National Sales Location: Mississauga Role Summary: The Appraiser's role is to prepare/review vehicle appraisals for sale; and evaluate and review securities to determine Market Values for repossession. This individual will receive queues from the related Account Representative, Recovery Department to determine if the security in question has sufficient equity to proceed with Repossession. They will conduct appraisals based on condition reports and photos provided by supply chain partners, research using Canadian Black Book, Carfax, Industry publications, the Internet and dealer network. Using this information, the Appraiser will determine approximate Market Values for securities. They will also be responsible for auditing and corresponding with suppliers to ensure the quality of information meets or exceeds Teranet appraisal standards. The Appraiser will be responsible for completion of personal daily log sheets and target reporting for review by team and management. This individual will work independently while providing support to their manager. They will also assist in the on line remote disposition of units as required. The Appraiser will need to maintain and continuously develop their own knowledge of vehicle information such as year, make, model and trim levels. They will use their knowledge and experience to ensure the highest quality, efficiency, and adherence to Teranet standards. Reporting directly to the Associate Manager, National Sales, this individual will do all assigned duties accurately and according to target mandates. 1. CORE ACCOUNTABILITIES /OUTCOMES: Appraise securities and remote sell. Ensure daily productivity targets are met within prescribed timelines. Ensure daily market and equity value requests are completed in a timely and efficient manner. Stay within or exceed daily equity evaluation targets. Ensure all tasks and internal queues are actioned and completed in accordance with the aligned work instructions within the prescribed timelines; follow standard operating procedures; action items according to task matrix; ensure quality and efficiency. Maintain strong knowledge of and stay abreast of vehicle information. Continuously develop/enhance own industry related knowledge. Update/relay important information to management. Maintain and increase knowledge of automotive industry; ensure changes are reported to management in a timely manner. 2. COMPLEXITY/JUDGEMENT Maintains awareness of the external environment to anticipate and influence trends that will affect Teranet's customers and their business. Uses this information to continually adapt strategy to ensure Teranet has competitive advantage in meeting customer needs. 3 . QUALIFICATIONS & EDUCATION High school diploma OMVIC certified (may be obtained post hire but candidate must be aware that they will be required to complete the course and pass their test as a requirement of employment) Strong working knowledge of automobiles and the central mechanical components 2-3 years of related automotive workplace experience 4. COMPETENCIES, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE Excellent verbal and written communication skills Strong analytical/problem-solving skills Proficient typing skills Able to work independently Working knowledge of MS Office software Resourceful research skills in evaluating information for accuracy and validity Assist with special projects as assigned Must anticipate challenges and ensure processes are in place to identify possible risk and minimize impact 2-3 years of related automotive workplace experience Automotive service and/or parts department 5.
