  • Business Unit Description:
  • Enovis Surgical
  • Machine titanium components produced via additive manufacturing into finished medical device parts.
  • Develop and optimize CNC programs using CAM software for complex geometries and tight tolerances.
  • Set up and operate 3-axis and/or 5-axis CNC mills and lathes for prototype and short-run production.
  • Perform precision finishing operations including milling, drilling, tapping, and surface finishing of additively manufactured parts.
  • Work closely with R&D and design engineers to refine prototypes and support design-for-manufacturing improvements.
  • Develop custom work holding and fixturing solutions for irregular additive geometries.
  • Inspect parts using precision metrology tools (micrometers, calipers, CMM, optical inspection systems).
  • Maintain process documentation in compliance with medical device quality systems (FDA / ISO 13485).
  • Optimize cutting strategies, tooling, and feeds/speeds for titanium machining.
  • Support rapid iteration cycles for prototype development.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation for audits and regulatory reviews.
  • Minimum Basic Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of experience as a CNC machinist in a prototype or R&D environment
  • Strong experience machining titanium and other difficult-to-machine materials
  • Experience programming 5 axis/Millturn CNC machines using CAM software (Mastercam, NX, etc.)
  • 3 years of experience running DMG Mori with Celos controls
  • Proficiency in CNC setup, tool selection, and process optimization
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings, GD&T, and 3D CAD models
  • Experience machining complex geometries and tight-tolerance parts
  • Strong understanding of tooling for titanium cutting
  • Experience with precision inspection tools and methods

  • Desired Characteristics:
  • Associate's degree or technical certification in Manufacturing, Machining, Engineering Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • Experience machining additively manufactured components (SLS, DMLS, EBM, etc.)
  • Familiarity with post-processing of AM titanium parts
  • Strong documentation skills in regulated manufacturing environments
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Effective communication skills with the ability to collaborate cross-functionally and present findings to management.
  • Detail-oriented mindset and Eager to Learn with a focus on accuracy and problem-solving
