Job Overview The Nurse Practitioner of Perinatal provides medical services to patients, ensuring appropriate and professional medical services. Minimum Requirements Graduation from an accredited Baccalaureate school of nursing. Graduation from an accredited Graduate women's health nurse practitioner program. Completed training in the diagnosis and management of common as well as some complex medical conditions. Current certification as a Nurse Practitioner by the CA Board of Registered Nursing. Current Nurse Practitioner Furnishing Number by the CA Board of Registered Nursing. Current certification through The National Certification Corporation as a Women's Health Care Nurse Practitioner (WHNP-BC). Minimum of 2 years' professional experience in women's health care post-degree required. Previous experience with computer-based systems is required; Electronic Medical Records experience is required. Completion of the AWHONN Perinatal Orientation and Education Program and Fetal Heart Monitoring Program courses is required within 6 months of hire. A minimum requirement of a valid BLS certification or higher, following the American Heart Association (AHA) or the American Red Cross guidelines.
