About the role
Mach Energetics is seeking a Head of Safety to lead safety operations across engineering, manufacturing, laboratory, test, and operational environments. Responsibilities

- Lead incident reporting, investigations, and corrective action implementation.
- Conduct facility inspections, operational audits, and hazard assessments.
- Manage occupational health programs including respirator fit testing, pulmonary function testing, and hearing conservation.
- Partner with engineering and manufacturing teams to support high-risk operations involving propulsion systems, energetics, hazardous materials, and test activities.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA standards and applicable federal, state, and local safety regulations.
- Support emergency preparedness planning and emergency response coordination.
- Required Qualifications
- 8+ years of experience leading safety programs in industrial, aerospace, manufacturing, defense, or other high-hazard environments.
- Strong understanding of OSHA regulations and industrial safety practices.
- Experience leading incident investigations and implementing corrective actions.
- Experience managing employee training and compliance programs.
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. security clearance.
Requirements
- Experience supporting aerospace operations, propulsion systems, energetics, or high-energy test environments.
- Familiarity with hazardous materials handling and operational risk management.
- Experience scaling safety systems within fast-growing technical organizations.
- OSHA certifications or related professional safety certifications preferred.
