Site Selection Program Manager Position Overview As the Site Selection Program Manager , you will play a pivotal role in accelerating the expansion of Vultr's worldwide data center footprint. This role is central to maintaining the velocity, structure, and visibility of our global site selection pipeline. You will bridge the gap between Site Selection, Network Engineering, Capacity Planning, Finance, Legal, and Data Center Operations, ensuring seamless cross-functional alignment and driving accountability across multiple concurrent global expansion projects. In our fast-paced, high-growth environment, you will bring operational discipline, structure, and transparency to complex, multi-stakeholder initiatives-empowering Vultr to scale rapidly while minimizing execution risk.

Responsibilities

  • Pipeline Management: Coordinate the end-to-end lifecycle of site selection activities, from initial market screening and due diligence through lease execution and handoff to the deployment teams.
  • Visibility & Reporting: Maintain centralized program trackers, dashboards, and reporting tools to monitor global deal status, milestones, risks, and critical dependencies.
  • Cross-Functional Coordination: Serve as the primary connective tissue between Site Selection, Infrastructure Engineering, Capacity Planning, Finance, Legal, and external data center operators/partners.
  • Data Integrity: Ensure CRM and internal infrastructure databases reflect accurate, real-time pipeline data and site progression.
  • Risk Mitigation: Proactively identify bottlenecks, manage dependencies across multiple concurrent site opportunities, and escalate blockers to keep deployments on schedule.
  • Executive Readiness: Support the preparation of executive briefs, financial summaries, and site approval packages for leadership review.
  • Process Optimization: Standardize workflows, documentation, and reporting mechanisms across different international regions to drive consistency and scalability.
  • Operational Handoff: Partner with Site Selection Managers to ensure comprehensive site readiness and a clean, documented handoff into the data center build and delivery phases.

Requirements

  • Experienced: 10+ years of program or project management experience, specifically within data center infrastructure, global site selection, commercial real estate, or large-scale telecommunications.
  • Organized & Execution-Focused: Exceptional organizational skills with a proven track record of managing multiple complex, concurrent projects under tight deadlines.
  • Cross-Functional Leader: Proven ability to build consensus, drive strategic alignment, and manage accountability across both highly technical engineering teams and business executives.
  • Detail-Oriented: A structured, analytical mindset with a sharp eye for tracking project variables, documentation, and compliance metrics.
  • Systems Fluent: Proficient with CRM/pipeline management tools (Salesforce experience preferred) and advanced project tracking software.
  • Adaptable: Thrives in a dynamic, rapidly evolving cloud-scale environment where priorities shift quickly.
  • Globally Minded: Willingness and ability to travel both domestically and internationally (up to 70%) to evaluate sites and support critical project milestones.
  • Deep familiarity with data center colocation markets, power/fiber due diligence, and wholesale lease structures.
  • PMP, Prince2, or equivalent program/project management certification.
  • Advanced proficiency in Smartsheet, Excel, or specialized infrastructure tracking platforms.
