About the role
As a Sales Development Representative on Vanguard's Financial Advisor Services (FAS) team, you'll play an important role in helping financial advisors deliver better outcomes for their clients-while supporting Vanguard's mission to give investors the best chance for investment success. Responsibilities
- Respond to inbound calls from financial advisors with questions about market trends, Vanguard products, and competitor offerings.
- Learn how to profile advisor practices, identify client needs, and discuss appropriate Vanguard investment solutions.
- Route qualified opportunities to the Financial Advisor Services sales team and support the progression of those relationships.
- Partner with internal and external sales executives and FAS leaders by coordinating and executing sales-support activities, including:
- Direct mail and email outreach
- Internal and external marketing campaigns
- Creation of customized prospect and client target lists used in the sales process
- Tracking and reporting on campaign activity and results
- Research and respond to requests from sales executives related to client needs, product questions, competitive insights, and sales or marketing materials.
- Collaborate with teams across Vanguard to gather, assemble, and deliver information accurately and on time to internal partners and external advisors.
- Participate in outbound call campaigns to engage prospective financial advisors identified through transaction data, registration lists, or other lead sources.
- Contribute to special projects and take on additional responsibilities as you continue to build skills and experience.
- What it takes
- Undergraduate degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- FINRA Securities Industry Essentials (SIE) exam required prior to hire.
- Series 7 and Series 63 licenses currently held, or the ability to obtain them within 90 days of hire.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain information clearly by phone, email, and web meetings.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Ability to work independently with limited day-to-day supervision while following established processes.
- Comfort collaborating with partners at different levels across the organization.
- Sound judgment and a thoughtful approach to decision-making in a fast-paced environment.
